Products scheduled to be tasted:
HERMANOS Torrontes 2016
Valle de Cafayate, Argentina $13.99
Very pale straw-yellow color. Enticing spicy lift to the aromas of white peach, peppermint and floral oils. Juicy, spicy and aromatic, showing moderate depth but good mineral intensity and definition. Finishes quite dry, with a piquant peppery quality.
GUNDLACH BUNDSCHU Gewurztraminer 2016
Sonoma County, California $17.99
Made in an Alsatian style from a 150-plus-year-old estate vineyard, this dry, well-crafted white is 90% stainless-steel fermented, with the rest fermented in neutral oak. It conveys jasmine and ripe stone fruit, crisp, clean with very little oak intrusion and sharply etched acidity. Flavors of pear and green apple mark the finish.
ARALDICA ‘Albera’ Barbera d’Asti 2014
Piedmont, Italy $11.99
Ruby red with purple highlights. Elegant fruit aromas of cherries and plums with an enticing warm, spiced, smoky aroma. Berry flavors paired with spiced and sapid notes. Pairs well with cured meats, game and cheeses.
BARISTA Pinotage 2015
Western Cape, South Africa $16.99
From the Val de Vie wine estate in the heart of the cape winelands, where wine production dates back to 1825. This is a deliberately modern offering by winemaker Bertus Fourie, who has concentrated on drawing out the coffee-like aromas of South Africa's signature grape. Intense on the nose, with a bouquet of coffee, chocolate and cherry, with meaty, savoury hints. The tannins are ripe, perfectly suiting the round and mouth-filling plum and mulberry fruit. Drink on its own or with red meat dishes.
